John Lovell and Jack Norton of East Bay University demonstrates combArt, an experimental game of Art
John Lovell of California State University East Bay will present the following:
1) combArt, an experimental game of art. Conflict or cooperation, the rules are variable. A drawing program using images from fine art is used to create visual game plays. Combart is available at itookatrip.net Presenters are John Lovell and Jack Norton from California State University, East Bay and Jin Li from Reality Digital.
2) One foundation idea of the game is that two players will interact to make a visual production which is unexpected and reflective of the acts of the players. The drawing program used is unusual in that it has the capability of using collage from established art works. An associated one person game uses the drawing program to express ideas. This one person game also allows a player to develop skill in using the drawing tools.
